SPANISH WINE WEEK WITH JOHN WILSON WEDNESDAY PICK

Vino de Montaña 2018, Península Viticultores, Sierras de Gata Y Gredos

It has a long name, yet it all makes sense. Grapes have been grown on the steep granite mountains south of Madrid for centuries,  but  it is only in the last two decades that the wines have been rediscovered.

Grown in these unique soils and climate, the Garnacha (Grenache in French) grape produces wonderfully perfumed, delicate wines that have a lovely fresh element, despite being 14.5-15% alcohol.
