We are well into 2020 and find ourselves in an unchartered world of the "Virus". I am a strong believer that when times are challenging it opens doors for other opportunities. The Virus means we are spending additional time at home and makes us all realise the importance of "home".

Home means something different to everyone but for me it represents an environment where I am safe & happy - it is the epicentre of my family life. Every home needs to evolve over time - I am often asked what are the key decor items I suggest to elevate a room. Some you can buy , some involves time and a set of strong pair of arms! Now is the perfect time to re-assess your home and give it a makeover.

If you want to really lift a home then a fabulous pendant light creates instant glam - Whether it centres the dining table or lifting an entrance hallway it is a game changer. If your renting most land lords are open to installation as the room will need to be repainted anyway post your departure.

This is a favourite of mine to divide the household items in to Function vs Sentiment Value. You will often find you have small items of furniture that don't offer any function as family needs have changed or they simply don't work in your new space. Be ruthless and throw them! Sentimental items can be brought together to display as a collection or put in to storage boxes rather than displaying everything you own.

So simple but so few homes have them. I work on approx 6-8 books for a coffee table (depending on the size) and I haven't even started on a console or shelving.

All high - end interiors pay attention to the details - one of which being plants and flowers added in to the space. Bringing the outdoors in makes a home feel complete but also curated and welcoming.  Don't have a green finger? Don't stress - we have just received a delivery of Faux plants and flowers.

More often than not, use what you have by simply swapping pieces from room to room. This can make a massive difference (including swapping artwork). For instance, try placing that chair in your bedroom in the entrance hallway next to a faux plant in a basket. The options are endless!
