WELCOME to our new Canada Manager Rowan Faraci. Rowan a milliner herself, started learning her skills through classes with Louise Macdonald in Melbourne, where she lived for 10 years. She continued with her passion for millinery when she moved to London for three years. Last year Rowan moved back to her native Vancouver and is excited to join the millinery scene in Canada. | | FOSSHAPE looks like a white pliable felt, but it’s a whole lot more. FOSSHAPE is a unique and proprietary nonwoven fabric. FOSSHAPE is comprised of a specialty, low melt synthetic polyester fiber that when exposed to varying degrees of heat and pressure, you can create a multitude of crafted items. FOSSHAPE is great for millinery and using as a bottom layer when blocking leather to get that smooth finish, crowns, caps, helmets, etc. Use it for a hidden stiffening aid or by itself for a fully self-supported light weight structure. | | Pinokpok is a finely woven fabric made of ABACA. It is also referred to as an extra fine sinamay which uses the finest of straws and has a very fine weave and almost looks like linen. This appearance is due to the fact that it has been subjected to considerable hand pounding. Usually, this hand pounding or hammering of the materials can take days and produces a shiny and smooth material, amazing for blocking and trimming. | | Our Jinsin fabric is made with buntal fibres woven with polyester thread - warp of buntal straw fibres and a weft of polyester thread. The fabric is very finely and closely woven and can create wonderful curved/circular designs through flexing the fabric vertically. The fabric is approximately 1mtr / 39inch wide and is sold by half a metre. [per 1/2 Mtr]
